Yard Sales

Do you go to yard sales? Are there a lot of yard sales where you live? What kind of items do you usually purchase when at one?

Have you ever held a yard sale before? If so, what kind of stuff did you sell? What is one thing you'd never consider buying from a yard sale?

We call them garage sales here. Not really sure why, because really, you sell them on your front lawn, not in the garage lol

I've been to a few. Haven't bought much from them. It depends really on what time you get there, because of course there's more stuff earlier in the day than later. Plus with garage sales you're not guaranteed to find anything good, it's just every now and then you find something for you.

The armchair I am currently sitting in, is a set of two armchairs and a 3 seater lounge, leather, peach colour (and oh how I loathe this colour), and mum bought it for $70. It wasn't very old actually, it was that years model. The owner worked for the furniture company he'd got it from, and was upgrading, and one of the cushions had a tiny bit of stitching on the back coming out, so he only asked for $70. Not bad.

Hm, and my first bike when I was a kid, my granddad bought it for me from a church garage sale.

Never held one, but I've actually been talking my mum for the past year that we need to clean our house out, and have a garage sale to get rid of a lot of junk. So yeah, sell old toys, unwanted books, etc etc.

What would I never consider buying from a garage sale? Well I could be really gross here and say underwear, but that's a given Hmm, seriously though, don't know. Guess I'd have to see to decide.

i love the idea of yard sales with the hopes i might find like rare video games or anime or something for super cheap. that's why i love outdoor swapmeets too. indoor ones are too fake and try to be malls but outdoor ones are more like yard sales cause they're not trying to be a business, just someone selling stuff.

i've only had them myselve like twice. you'd be surprised how much **** you CANT GET RID OF. -_- lol. reminds me of this joke from a comedian talking about how he once put up a vcr for 50 cents. and some guy litterally tried to haggle offering 25 cents. and he's like "well idk, i thought 50cent's was pretty good for a VCR!! and i could really use those extra 25 cents..." lolol

I love yard sells, my dad collects coke stuff so that's what I usually buy. Like one time we bought and old fashion coke fridge from he 1950s for $25 its was awesome.

I don't go yard saleing for like cloths and stuff though. :P

My family has held yard sales before, but they are just to boring and aggravating, because people always want 50 cents for everything.

There was a lot when I lived in a small town in Missouri. They would have yard sale days where the whole town had one. I like to look at old nic nacs and furniture. I usually buy whatever catches my eye.

I had one just before I moved from that town. We sold a lot of ****. I wish i didn't sell this mirror had though. It had a very pretty frame and I sold it for like 8 bucks. Thats not funny. I don't think I would ever buy used shoes.

Yes. Definitely a lot of yard sales where I live. Uhm, usually anything Alpha can buy me with her money. LOL.

Yeah, well my parents did. We sold a sega dreamcast, a karaoke machine, and some lawn furniture, etc. I would never consider buying broken stuff.

I find in the city it kind of difficult to find a yard sale. I have gone to them before, but I don't do it on a regular basis. I'm in fact not one for them too much, I like buying new I guess or used from Goodwill. But other than that, nope...don't look too much at them.

The only good thing about them is that people want to get rid of stuff which is cool. My plan is not to get stuff I don't need, so that I never need to have one. lolz

And no...I have not had one yet.
