12/21/2007: "Christmas Carols"
I think that music must also hold a special place in God's heart, after all there are so many Bible verses that talk about music and singing. So it's no wonder we hold such a passion for music.
Lately of course, as Christmas is fast approaching, many of us are listening to Christmas Carols. I don't know if maybe I've just been fortunate in who I've heard sing them, but I never really noticed before just how impassioned these songs are.
I don't mean songs about Santa, however they do remind us of our long gone childhood years, and evoke our memories of fun. But I'm referring to the carols that sing about the real heart of Christmas - Jesus.
I think this is the first time I've truly felt the emotion, the love behind these songs, and felt the love and passion of the singers for their Saviour Jesus.
I had the great fortune this year to attend a community Christmas Carols concert. So while they are not 'professionals', these singers had beautiful voices but also a great passion for what they were singing, so it really spoke to me and for that I am grateful.
I've been very inspired by these Carols, because it shows me that somewhere, someone had a great faith for God to write such songs of love for Jesus.
Oh, come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant!
Oh, come ye, oh, come ye to Bethlehem;
Come and behold him
Born the king of angels:
Oh, come, let us adore him,
Oh, come, let us adore him,
Oh, come, let us adore him,
Christ the Lord.
